Rip City Remix hold off Hustle in 108-105 Victory

PORTLAND, Ore. — Sean Pedulla scored 21 points and the Rip City Remix weathered a furious fourth-quarter rally to defeat the Memphis Hustle 108-105 at the Chiles Center in NBA G League action on Sunday.

In a contest featuring 25 lead changes, the Remix (7-5) utilized a balanced attack and dominant bench play to overcome the effort from Memphis’ Tyler Burton, who finished with 23 points.

The game turned clinical in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter. After Andrew Carr drained a 26-foot three-pointer to extend the Remix lead to 86-79, Memphis (1-9) responded with a 10-2 run sparked by Nate Hinton’s clutch free-throw shooting. Hinton tied the game at 100-100 with just over a minute remaining.

However, Carr answered with a turnaround fadeaway to regain the lead, and Pedulla sealed the victory at the charity stripe, hitting three of four free throws in the final 17 seconds.

The Remix benefited significantly from Kalib Boone, who provided a massive spark off the bench with 17 points and 13 rebounds.

The game was not without drama. In the third quarter, Memphis’ Charlie Brown Jr. was assessed a Flagrant Foul Type 2 and ejected following a play at the 6:26 mark. Simultaneously, Rip City’s Romeo Weems was ejected after receiving an individual technical foul during the same stoppage.

Memphis outpaced Rip City in the paint 44-40, but the Remix’s 12-of-37 shooting from beyond the arc proved to be the difference.

Lawson Lovering contributed 13 points and 15 rebounds for the Hustle in the loss. Andrew Carr finished with 21 points for the Remix.
