Business beat: Need Space to Southaven, Chick-fil-A opens in Horn Lake

NEED SPACE STORAGE OPENS IN SOUTHAVEN

Oct 30, 2024- A new storage space facility has opened in Southaven, at 5060 Venture Drive. Need Space Storage becomes the latest in a series of five storage facilities with the Southaven facility being the newest ahead of another one to be located in Hernando.

The facility in Southaven is a three-story climate-controlled building that offers various unit sizes and amenities, such as dehumidifiers, a complimentary truck and a first full-month free promotion.

Need Space Storage is a company based in Olive Branch with two locations, along with Munford, Tenn., the new Southaven location and the one to open in the future on Rylan Road in Hernando.

District manager Haley Richardson said Need Space wants to be more than just a typical storage location.

“We want to work hand-in-hand and let people put a face to a name,” Richardson said. “We really want to service your needs.”

Richardson said the first location opened about two years ago and there’s definitely a need for what they offer.

“A lot of people move around a lot or they just need to store things outside of a garage,” Richardson explained. “We really wanted to be in Southaven because it’s growing so fast and we want to be part of that growth.”

CHICK-FIL-A TO OPEN IN HORN LAKE

Crystal Mayson-Durden is the new owner-operator for the latest addition of the Chick-fil-A brand in DeSoto County. The new Chick-fil-A restaurant, located on Goodman Road across from Walmart, will open for business on Friday, Nov. 1. A grand-opening ribbon-cutting ceremony with city and business leaders was held late Wednesday afternoon.

“I’m ecstatic to serve great food to the Horn Lake community as well as serve in any capacity that I can,” Mayson-Durden said. “The Horn Lake community resonates with me and I knew I wanted to be a part of the community as the owner-operator.”

With the Horn Lake store opening, there will now be four Chick-fil-A restaurants in DeSoto County. Two are located in Southaven and one in Olive Branch.
