New traffic signal installation underway

This is a joint project between DeSoto County Supervisors and the City of Hernando.

The closure allowed the Corps of Engineers to carry out extensive rehabilitation work, including debris removal and tree restoration.

The Agri-Center will become the center of everything involving agriculture in DeSoto County.

The DeSoto County Agri-Education Center is expected to fill a need and be the center of a variety of activities as it opens and grows.

District 1 Supervisor Jessie Medlin will be the Vice President this year.

On Monday, Dec. 23, the intersection will become a four-way stop as an interim safety measure.

Support for the grant came from local, state and federal officials.

New customers are being added and the county is on track for fiber internet by the end of the year for nearly everyone.

The county is working to bridge the digital divide with its Broadband Connectivity Program.

The funding will assist the County Board of Supervisors in constructing the 0.8 mile trail.
