Both DeSoto Central basketball teams earned easy victories at Lewisburg Friday night.

Saturday was the last day for the Shan Whiteside Sideline Cancer Classic at DeSoto Central.

Shan Whiteside Classic continues at DeSoto Central.

The classic is named for the first basketball coach at DeSoto Central, Shan Whiteside.

Tommy Callicut was named game’s MVP.

The Kelly sisters led the way for the Lady Tigers, as Jaliah scored 30 and Fran added 26.

The win was also the second straight victory against highly ranked teams in Mississippi.

Vernon Green III led the way for the Gators against the Tigers with a game-high 30 points.

All-state volleyball players include Lake Cormorant, Lewisburg, Hernando and DeSoto Central standouts.

Holiday tournament and classic basketball opens the Thanksgiving break week.
