Southaven honors Mullins, amends Critical Event Policy

Hayes was nominated for the honor by Public Works Director Justin Rose.

Chief Pullen concluded the presentation by thanking the Mayor and Board of Aldermen for their continued support throughout 2025.

No final vote was taken on the cannabis ordinance; the board agreed to review the draft and suggested revisions before taking action.

Southaven was one of the cities to initially opt-out of the state’s medical cannabis law, the Mississippi Medical Cannabis Act.

The Board of Aldermen meeting will be held Tuesday night at Hernando City Hall, starting at 6 p.m.

The annexation request was voted on when the Board returned to regular session.

Both Olive Branch and Horn Lake held swearing-in ceremonies to begin their board meetings on Tuesday night.

The first board meeting for the new body will be Tuesday, July 1, beginning at 6 p.m.
