Andrea Turnbow returns to DFT to play Lily in ‘The Secret Garden,’ opening Friday and running through April 28.

The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Office said the annual Fallen Heroes Memorial will be held May 1 at 10 a.m. at the DeSoto County Courthouse in Hernando to honor officers killed in the line of duty.

Davidson Road between Stonecrest Drive and Tranquil Road will be closed Wednesday, April 23, from 8:30 a.m. to noon for road repairs, officials said. Southbound traffic will be diverted to Stateline Road; northbound traffic to Curbo Lane or Douglas Drive.

Northwest Mississippi Community College said in a social media post that its national-champion women’s soccer team visited the Governor’s Mansion and the Mississippi Capitol and that the college thanked Gov. Tate Reeves and state legislators for their hospitality.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency says residents in 36 Mississippi counties, including DeSoto County, affected by the Jan. 23-27 winter storms may be eligible for Individual Assistance.

Olive Branch Mayor Ken Adams and the city’s emergency services team met with county and municipal officials at the DeSoto County Agri-Education Center to discuss the effects of Winter Storm Fern, the city said.
