JACKSON, Miss. – State Auditor Shad White has earned national recognition for his efforts to protect taxpayer funds, as the State Financial Officers Foundation (SFOF) highlighted his office’s success in identifying over 400 million dollars in waste.

The distinction was included in the SFOF’s inaugural 2025 Oversight Report, which tracks the achievements of financial officers managing more than 3 trillion dollars in state funds. The report specifically lauded White for the “MOGE” report—a comprehensive look at audits from the Mississippi Office of the State Auditor—and his aggressive scrutiny of nonprofits that mismanaged public money.

“It’s an honor to be named among the State Auditors fighting the rampant fraud, waste, and abuse in government,” White said. He noted that from federal anti-fraud task forces to the state level, “fraud now has nowhere to hide.”

The SFOF praised White’s work as a vital example of how independent auditing ensures every dollar serves its intended purpose. By promoting transparency and holding officials accountable, the Auditor’s office continues to safeguard Mississippi’s resources against inefficiency.

The full 2025 Oversight Report, which features contributions from 40 officers across the country, is currently available for public review online.
