Okolona man in custody After Oxford police pursuit

Aug. 11, 2025 – An Okolona man is behind bars after allegedly violating a protection order and fleeing from Oxford police earlier this month.

The Oxford Police Department reports that on Aug. 6, officers responded to a call about an active protection order violation. They located the suspect, 23-year-old Mitchell Wren, in a parking garage near the Square. When approached, Wren reportedly sped away in a vehicle, prompting a brief pursuit that officers ended due to safety concerns.

Investigators obtained warrants the next day charging Wren with aggravated stalking, felony fleeing, and violating a protection order. He was later found in Monroe County, where deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department arrested him.

Wren was returned to Lafayette County and booked into the county detention center, where he remains held without bond.

Oxford police expressed appreciation to Monroe County Sheriff Kevin Crook and his deputies for their help in the arrest.
