Officer-involved shooting in Corinth

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) is investigating an officer-involved shooting involving the Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office that occurred on June 8. 

Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call for service on County Road 575 in Corinth. Upon arrival, deputies encountered a subject threatening to harm himself and others with a weapon. 

The deputies then discharged their weapons, striking the subject. The deputies involved did not receive any serious physical injury. This information is preliminary and subject to change. 

MBI is currently assessing this critical incident and gathering evidence. Upon completing the  investigation, agents will share their findings with the Attorney General’s Office.
