SENATOBIA, Miss. — The Northwest Mississippi Community College Foundation announced Friday that Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch will be the recipient of the Alumni Professional Achievement Award at its upcoming annual gala.

The event, titled “The Northwest Soiree: A Garden Gala,” is scheduled for April 18, 2026, at the Heindl Center for the Performing Arts. Fitch, a Holly Springs native and the state’s first female attorney general, began her academic journey at Northwest before earning her juris doctorate from the University of Mississippi at age 23.

“Serving the people is my greatest goal,” Fitch said, noting that her time at Northwest provided the foundation for her accelerated career.

Fitch has gained national recognition, including a spot on the TIME 100 list. Her tenure has been defined by statewide initiatives such as the “One Pill Can Kill” fentanyl awareness campaign and efforts to combat human trafficking.

The gala, presented by Mini Systems, Inc., includes a social hour and a performance by singer-songwriter Dave Barnes. Proceeds support scholarships and educational programs. Last year, the event raised more than 140,000 dollars, with 100 percent of those funds dedicated to student success and community enrichment.
