Mississippi Teen Charged with Attempted Murder and Arson After Stabbing Victim and Attempting to Set House on Fire
On June 14, 2024, the Gulfport Police Department arrested 15-year-old Lexi Jade Brown, charging her with attempted murder and first-degree arson. The arrest followed a violent incident in the early morning hours.
Around 2:33 a.m., officers responded to a call in the 13000 block of Dee Avenue regarding a cutting incident. Upon arrival, they discovered a victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. The investigation revealed that the victim was attacked while asleep, waking to find Brown assaulting her with a knife. Brown also attempted to start a fire inside the residence.
The victim was promptly transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
During questioning, Brown admitted to planning the attack, stating that she found the victim to be a “weird bitch” and accused her of “suppressing the black in her.”
Following her arrest, Brown was processed and transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center. Judge Patano set her bond at $1,250,000.
