Mississippi Main Street Association adds Winfield as marketing and outreach specialist
JACKSON, Miss. — The Mississippi Main Street Association (MMSA) announced Monday the appointment of Lila Carter Winfield as the statewide downtown revitalization organization’s new marketing and outreach specialist.
Winfield, of Ridgeland, will coordinate the organization’s marketing, communication and outreach efforts involving Main Street members, investors, partners, legislators, municipal officials, media and the public. Additionally, she will serve as the primary coordinator for MMSA conferences, training and special events.
“We are thrilled to welcome Lila to the Main Street team,” said Jeannie Waller Zieren, MMSA executive director. “Through her work with Visit Mississippi, Lila has helped market and promote communities and the special places we have all over the state.”
A Starkville native, Winfield joins MMSA after serving as the digital content manager for Visit Mississippi since December 2024. She is a May 2024 graduate of Mississippi State University, where she earned a degree in marketing.
Winfield previously completed internships with MMSA, the Greater Starkville Partnership/Starkville Main Street Association and Downtown Strategies/Retail Strategies. According to the association, these roles provided her with hands-on experience in community development and destination marketing.
“Her internships with MMSA and Starkville Main Street gave her firsthand experience with managing effective promotions and marketing campaigns,” Zieren said. “I believe Lila will elevate our statewide marketing efforts to the next level.”
Winfield expressed enthusiasm regarding her return to the Main Street network.
“I am beyond excited to be working with Mississippi Main Street Association, where I will be working in marketing and outreach,” Winfield said. “Main Street has always been so special to me, and I am looking forward to working with the communities in our great state,”
