Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, Capitol Police Seize 100 Pounds of Meth in Jackson Bust
JACKSON, Miss. – Authorities say a major drug bust in Jackson has taken more than 100 pounds of methamphetamine and other illegal items off the streets.
The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, assisted by Capitol Police, executed a search warrant on Aug. 7 at a home on South Crownpointe Drive. During the operation, officers arrested Racquel Taylor on aggravated trafficking charges after she was allegedly found in possession of 100 pounds of methamphetamine.
On Aug. 12, investigators arrested Tyrone Samuel on charges of aggravated trafficking and conspiracy. Officials noted that Samuel was already out on bond from Madison County at the time of his arrest.
In addition to the methamphetamine, agents seized approximately two pounds of marijuana, about 1,000 counterfeit M30 Oxycodone pills containing fentanyl, a Draco 7.62 rifle, a stolen Ford Bronco reported out of Kentucky, and a GMC Yukon.
Seized items included:
- 100 pounds of methamphetamine
- 2 pounds of marijuana
- 1,000 counterfeit M30 Oxycodone pills with fentanyl
- Draco 7.62 rifle
- Stolen Ford Bronco (Kentucky)
- GMC Yukon
“This is great work done by our law enforcement officers by taking 100 pounds of methamphetamine and other drugs off our streets,” said Department of Public Safety Commissioner Sean Tindell. “Every ounce or pound removed is a step toward safer communities and a clear message to criminals that illegal drugs have no place in Mississippi.”
Officials say the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
