Mega Millions jackpot soars to estimated $965 million, record for longest roll
JACKSON, Miss. — The Mega Millions jackpot has surged to an estimated $965 million ahead of Friday night’s drawing, marking the longest consecutive jackpot roll in the game’s history. With a cash option of approximately $445.3 million, tonight’s drawing will be the 40th since the last jackpot was claimed.
The previous Mega Millions jackpot was won on June 27, 2025, in Virginia, where a lucky ticket holder took home a $348 million prize with a cash value of $155.5 million. If someone hits the jackpot tonight, it would rank as the eighth-largest Mega Millions prize ever awarded.
The record for the largest Mega Millions jackpot remains $1.602 billion, won in Florida on Aug. 8, 2023.
