McRae celebrates Financial Wellness Month in April
April 1, 2025 – Treasurer David McRae today announced the celebration of National Financial Wellness Month at the State Treasury. During the month of April, stay alert for our best financial tips and resources at facebook.com/DavidMcRaeMS. Mississippians can also access resources at treasury.ms.gov/FinancialEducation.
“Just like any family, the State Treasury is continuously evaluating the state’s finances and making sure all bills can get paid on time,” said McRae. “April is our opportunity to double down on sharing some lessons learned, financial lifehacks, and general tips to help more Mississippians achieve their short- and long-term financial goals.”
Under Treasurer David McRae, the state has maintained its strong credit rating and produced historic returns on investments, including $375 million last year alone. In addition to managing the state’s finances, the Treasury is charged with sharing financial wellness information with citizens.
The Mississippi Treasury website, treasury.ms.gov, hosts several free tools and resources to assist in budgeting, saving and overall financial health. Children are also encouraged to participate in Financial Wellness Month. Parents and teachers can find resources at treasury.ms.gov/FinancialEducation.
