Luck Strikes Twice: Back-to-Back Mississippi Match 5 Wins as Powerball Soars to $1.1 Billion
JACKSON, Miss. – Mississippi lottery players had a weekend to remember, with consecutive Mississippi Match 5 jackpots claimed and the Powerball prize climbing to historic heights.
Mississippi Match 5 Double Wins
- On Saturday, Dec. 13, a ticket purchased at Sun Express in Tupelo matched all five numbers, securing a $251,036 jackpot.
- Just one night later, on Sunday, Dec. 14, another winning ticket sold at The Oaks in Moss Point matched all five numbers to win $50,000.
- Following the back-to-back wins, the Mississippi Match 5 jackpot resets to $50,000 for tonight’s drawing.
Mississippi Match 5 is a $2 nightly game, with an optional $1 multiplier that boosts non-jackpot prizes.
Powerball Jackpot Surges
The Powerball jackpot has skyrocketed to an estimated $1.1 billion with a cash value of $503.4 million for tonight’s drawing, Monday, Dec. 15.
- This marks the 43rd consecutive Powerball drawing without a jackpot winner, the longest streak in the game’s history.
- If won tonight, the prize would rank as the sixth-largest Powerball jackpot ever.
- The last jackpot was hit on Sept. 6, 2025, when tickets in Missouri and Texas split a record $1.787 billion prize.
Mississippi Powerball Winners
Mississippi players continue to shine in Powerball:

- Double Play offers a second chance drawing with its own prize pool, including a $10 million top prize.
