Investigation underway following afternoon shooting in Tunica

TUNICA, Miss. — The Tunica County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left one person injured and multiple vehicles damaged Wednesday afternoon.

At approximately 4:21 p.m. deputies responded to reports of shots fired near 1655 Beatline Road. Shortly after the initial call, a motorist contacted authorities to report their vehicle had been struck by gunfire.

Deputies located the caller and the damaged vehicle. Pafford EMS arrived at the scene to evaluate the individual, who was determined to be uninjured. During the sweep of the area, investigators discovered a second vehicle that had also been struck by bullets.

According to sheriff’s officials, one victim sustained a gunshot wound during the incident. That individual was transported to a local hospital via personal vehicle. The current condition of the victim has not been released.

Ongoing Investigation and Tips

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Authorities have not yet identified a suspect or a motive for the shooting.
