Find unclaimed money in Hernando: Treasurer David McRae visits Wednesday

HERNANDO, Miss. – State Treasurer David McRae is bringing his “Unclaimed Money Tour” to Hernando on Wednesday, Nov. 12, as the state celebrates returning a record-breaking $150 million in unclaimed funds in just over five years.

The public event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon at Baker’s Corner, located at 39 W. Commerce St.

Staff from the Treasury’s Unclaimed Money division will be on-site to help residents search the state’s database and assist them in beginning the claims process. Free coffee will be provided to all attendees.

In addition to searching for lost funds, attendees can also speak with representatives from the Treasury’s College and Career Savings team. The team will be available to visit with families about saving for educational or job training expenses.
