Film Mississippi Unveils New Brand and Website
JACKSON, Miss. — The Mississippi Film Office has rebranded as Film Mississippi, unveiling a new visual identity and a relaunched website to better reflect the state’s burgeoning film and television industry. The new brand, developed in collaboration with Jackson-based studio Southern Cult, aims to position Mississippi as a top destination for filmmakers.
The rebrand includes a modern logo featuring a stylized “M” that evokes imagery of the Mississippi River while also suggesting progress and innovation. According to Film Mississippi Director Nina Parikh, the new look is a strategic move to align the office’s identity with the vitality of the state’s creative talent and a vision for the next 50 years.
“We wanted a modern logo and brand that reflects the vitality of our state’s burgeoning film and TV industry, the creativity and talent of our workforce and a vision to carry us forward for the next half century,” Parikh said.
Southern Cult, led by designer Tyler Tadlock, developed the new branding, which includes a refreshed color palette and typography. Tadlock described the new name, Film Mississippi, as “not just a brand identity — it’s a call to action,” reminding producers and location scouts that the state is ready for their projects.
The new website, filmmississippi.org, is a central component of the rebrand. It serves as a comprehensive resource for filmmakers, providing access to its Reel Scout location database, a crew and services directory, and information on incentive programs.
Film Mississippi has a long history of attracting major productions to the state. Since 2004, it has administered the Mississippi Motion Picture Incentive Program, which offers a cash rebate of up to 35%. The office also added the Mississippi Episodic Television Incentive Program in 2024, providing a cash rebate of up to 40% for episodic productions.
Notable films and TV shows shot in Mississippi include O’ Brother, Where Art Thou?, The Help, and HGTV’s Home Town.
