Averitt Express commits $9.6 million to Rankin County expansion

JACKSON, Miss. (Oct. 7, 2025) – Averitt Express, a major supply chain management and freight distribution company, is investing $9,623,400 to expand its operations in Richland, Mississippi, a project expected to create 27 new jobs.

The expansion involves constructing a 150,000-square-foot logistics facility at Averitt’s existing Richland service center. The company, which operates a vast North American and international network, received assistance from the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) through the MFLEX program, with further support from Rankin County and the city of Richland.

Gov. Tate Reeves stated the investment highlights Mississippi’s strong transportation infrastructure and economic momentum.
