Crowder Brings Christian Rock to Northwest Mississippi Community College

SENATOBIA, Miss. — The Heindl Center for the Performing Arts at Northwest Mississippi Community College will host Grammy-nominated Christian rock artist Crowder on Sunday, Sept. 14, at 7:30 p.m. The concert will also feature singer-songwriter Blessing Offor.

David Crowder’s career spans more than two decades, beginning with the formation of the David Crowder Band while he was a student at Baylor University. His musical style, which he describes as an eclectic mix of folk, rock, and electronic elements, draws from a diverse range of influences, from Elvis to Willie Nelson.

In 2014, Crowder launched his solo career with the album “Neon Steeple,” which featured the Grammy-nominated song “Come as You Are.” Since then, he has amassed five Grammy nominations, five Dove Awards, and five No. 1 radio singles, including “Good God Almighty” and “Grave Robber.”

Dr. Blake Bostick, director of the Heindl Center, emphasized Crowder’s significant influence in contemporary Christian music. “Crowder is known for soulful vocals and an innovative blend of genres that creates a high-energy performance,” Bostick said.

Tickets and more information are available at the Heindl Center’s website, https://www.heindlcenter.org/.
