Vipers edge Hustle to finish series sweep
SOUTHAVEN, Miss. – The Rio Grande Valley Vipers edged the Memphis Hustle 110-107 in a thrilling NBA G League match up Friday night at Landers Center.
The Vipers (3-2), the Houston Rockets’ affiliate, built a commanding 22-point halftime lead before Memphis (3-5) stormed back with a 32-point third quarter to tie the game at 73. The fourth quarter featured eight ties and 12 lead changes, but Daishen Nix sealed the win with clutch free throws as RGV held on for the three-point victory.
Nix led all scorers with 34 points, shooting a perfect 100 percent from the line. Rockets two-way guard Isaiah Crawford added 25 points, hitting 80 percent from beyond the arc. For Memphis, Tyler Burton posted 25 points and nine rebounds, while Evan Gilyard scored 24 and DeJon Jarreau chipped in 20.
