Smith leads Center Hill golfers at 6A state meet

Center Hill girls finished fourth in the MHSAA 6A girls’ golf meet held Tuesday. The Lady Mustangs scored a team total of 411 strokes, six more than third-place Gautier (405). Hancock won the state title with an overall score of 333, defeating runner up Saltillo (353) by 20 strokes.

Kylie Smith had Center Hill’s best effort in the 36-hole meet, shooting a 49-over par 193 for the meet, good for seventh place. Karstyn Altese of Hancock was the individual medalist with a five-over par 149 over the Mallard Pointe golf course.
