Rust College’s Patsy Johnson Earns All-HBCUAC Preseason First Team Honors
HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. — Rust College women’s basketball star Patsy Johnson has been named to the All-HBCU Athletic Conference (HBCUAC) Preseason First Team, the conference announced this week.
Johnson, a returning leader for the Bearcats, received the prestigious preseason recognition after a standout 2024–25 season. She established herself as one of the premier offensive players in the conference, finishing in the top five in scoring and the top 10 in three-point shooting percentage.
Her performance and leadership have made her an essential part of the Rust College program as the team prepares for the upcoming season.
“Patsy has put in the work day after day, and it’s paying off,” said Head Coach Jaleesa Sams. “She’s grown not only as a player but as a leader for our team. This recognition is well-deserved, and we’re excited to see her continue to set the tone for our program this season.”
Johnson’s consistent play and competitive drive will be key as the Bearcats look to build on their success in the HBCUAC.
