Northwest volleyball releases 2024 schedule

Rangers to host Freed-Hardeman JV in home opener

With two months remaining until the first exhibition matches, Northwest volleyball coach Allison Burchyett has released her schedule for the 2024 season.

Though the Lady Rangers won’t formally open the season until August 22, Burchyett and her squad will participate in three exhibition matches, all slated to be hosted at Howard Coliseum. An alumni match will be held on Saturday, Aug. 10 at 2 P.M., followed by a tri-match exhibition slate against Frontier and Rust College on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 11 A.M. and 2 P.M.

After opening the regular season with a road trip to Irving, Texas on Thursday, Aug. 22 against Dallas College-North Lake and Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, the Lady Rangers are scheduled to host Freed-Hardeman JV on Monday, Aug. 26 at 6 P.M.

From there, Northwest will spend the next few weeks on the road in Illinois, Alabama, Arkansas and Tennessee, before returning to the friendly confines of Howard Coliseum on Friday, September 20 against Coastal Alabama-South and Shawnee, scheduled for 3 P.M. and 5 P.M. respectively.

For the first time since starting the volleyball program in 2020, Northwest will compete with a full conference schedule, as Jones College and Meridian begin competition this fall. The Lady Rangers will host Pearl River on Sept. 23 and Jones College on Sept. 25, before hosting Itawamba on Monday, Sept. 30 at 6 P.M.

Northwest is scheduled to step out of conference play on Saturday, October 5, hosting Dallas College-North Lake and Rust College at 11 A.M. and 3 P.M., respectively. The Lady Rangers will also take one final road swing from Oct. 7-16, visiting Northeast, Pearl River, Coastal Alabama-South, Jones College and Itawamba.

Meridian and Northeast will highlight the final homestand of the year on Oct. 21 and Oct. 23, before Northwest hosts Henderson State JV and Blue Mountain Christian JV to close out the regular season on Oct. 28.
