Northeast CC athletes named all-MACCC all-academic includes DeSoto County
A number of DeSoto County athletes were part of a lengthy list of Northeast Mississippi Community College student athletes, totaling 113 individuals from Northeast were recognized with scholastic awards from the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC).
Northeast has either matched or broken the school record for most academic all-conference winners for seven consecutive years. There were nearly 40 more honorees this season than the 2023-24 athletic campaign.
The MACCC annually acknowledges both freshmen and sophomores from its 15 institutions that complete 24 cumulative hours between both semesters with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.25.
Nominees with a GPA between 3.25 and 3.79 obtain Academic All-MACCC while those with a 3.8 or greater GPA earn the title of distinguished scholar. Athletes that graduated in December also qualified by taking 12 countable hours.
