Prep baseball
Hernando 16, Lewisburg 5 (6 innings)
Note: Topher Jones and Meyer Maddox each had two hits for Hernando and Maddox had three RBIs. Two runs in the sixth inning invoked the run rule after Lewisburg failed to score in their half of the inning. Thomas Mitchell struck out six and walked three for the Tigers in four innings and was the winning pitcher. For Lewisburg, Cooper Bennett doubled and drove in a run. Sam Richardson had two RBIs with one hit and Talon Haley scored twice. Stone McCaughery took the loss for the Patriots, allowing seven runs (two earned), one hit, and walked four.
Lake Cormorant 7, South Panola 0
Note: South Panola was held to just two hits by three Gator pitchers. Walker Wixon homered and drove in four runs on two hits, Grant Mitchell doubled for Lake Cormorant and Michael Callahan had two hits.
Oxford 16, Horn Lake 2
Note: Dwayne White Jr. drove in both of Horn Lake’s runs in the loss with a double. Marvin Matthews Jr. also doubled for the Eagles. Matthews took the pitching loss with seven walks and six strikeouts in four innings pitched.
Northpoint Christian 12, Evangelical Christian 2 (6 innings)
Note: The Trojans broke the game open with five runs in the second inning and five more in the third. Seth Giamportone had three hits for Northpoint, including a double, and Isaiah Nolan tripled. Jayden Parker and KL Farr each had two RBIs. Farr was the winning pitcher with two runs on three hits allowed, walked two and struck out 10.
Saltillo 16, Center Hill 7
Note: Kyle Erwin homered and doubled for the Mustangs in the contest. Whit Key also doubled and drove in three runs in the game. Mac Atkins took the loss on the mound with six runs allowed, two walks and two strikeouts in four innings pitched. Saltillo broke the game open with five runs in the seventh and held on when Center Hill plated three in their home half of the final inning.

Lewisburg 6, Hernando 0
Note: Lewisburg all of its runs in the first two innings, with three in each inning. Hernando was held to just two hits in the game. Emma Abrams struck out seven in earning the circle victory. Anna Etter scored one run with three hits, including a double, and had five RBIs. Hernando relief pitcher Olivia Skinner struck out five and have up four hits in 4.2 innings.
DeSoto Central 20, Horn Lake 0 (3 innings)
Note: Lady Jags scored 17 times in the first inning of the game. L Gaffney tossed a no-hitter, with two walks and five strikeouts for DeSoto Central. K Short and Londen Armstrong doubled for the Lady Jags. Colby Young scored two runs with two hits and four runs batted in.
