MONTICELLO, Ark. – Northwest Mississippi Community College’s Brayden Mahon claimed his second steer wrestling title of the season at the Boll Weevil Stampede, hosted by the University of Arkansas–Monticello.
Mahon clocked a 5.3 in the first go and a 4.9 in the short go, finishing with a 10.2 average — seven-tenths faster than Missouri Valley College’s Carson Ball. The win netted Mahon 170 regional points, moving him from sixth to second place with 310 total points after four rodeos. The sophomore from New York also won earlier this season at the University of West Alabama.
Teammate Trey Lee Weekley placed seventh overall in steer wrestling after recording times of 8.4 and 10.2. On the women’s side, Reagan Chance made her first short-go appearance of 2025 in breakaway roping, tying for sixth in the long go with a 3.0-second run but missing in the short go.
Northwest’s women finished seventh in team points, while the men’s team was held scoreless for the first time this season. The Rangers wrap up their fall campaign Nov. 20 at the Racer Roundup College Rodeo hosted by Murray State University.
