Hustle spurred by Austin to open two-game series

The Austin Spurs defeated the Memphis Hustle in the first of a two-game series Saturday night at the Landers Center 121-109 before 1,154 fans. The two teams meet again Monday night at 7 p.m.

Justin Bean and Matt Hurt led the way for the Hustle with 17 points each and were two of seven players in double figures.  

Three Spurs scored more than 20 points in the victory, led by Olin Carter III with 25 points.

The Hustle led 52-50 at halftime but Austin scored 71 points in the second half to pull away for the victory.  

With the loss, the Hustle fell back into second place in the NBA G League Western Conference race with Stockton a half-game in front.
