Friday sports: Olive Branch Defeats Lewisburg 42-21

OLIVE BRANCH, Miss. – Olive Branch football notched its first victory of the 2025 season Friday night with a 42-21 win over Lewisburg, marking head coach Marcus Jamison’s first career win at the helm of the Conquistadors.
Jamison, who previously served as defensive coordinator at DeSoto Central, guided Olive Branch to bounce back from a Week One loss to Shannon. Both teams now sit at 1-1 after Lewisburg opened its season with a win over Mitchell High School of Memphis.
Scoring Highlights
First Quarter: Brandon Perry opened the scoring with a one-yard touchdown run for Olive Branch. Lewisburg tied it with a nine-yard run by Levi Persley, but the Conquistadors regained the lead on an interception return. Lukas Edwards answered with a two-yard score for the Patriots, but Olive Branch seized momentum when Marcus Jamison Jr. returned the ensuing kickoff 78 yards for a touchdown and a 21-14 lead.
Second Quarter: Olive Branch stretched its advantage with an 18-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Kylen Reed to Jacori Nolan, followed by a one-yard run from Jaylin Hickman in the final minute of the half to make it 35-14.
Fourth Quarter: Lewisburg trimmed the deficit on a 19-yard touchdown pass from Jacob Manns to Cael Riden, but Olive Branch closed the scoring with a 20-yard Reed-to-Jamison Jr. touchdown pass for the 42-21 final.
The Conquistadors will host Horn Lake next Friday, while Lewisburg travels to Ripley.
