Whiteside federal trial date pushed into April
Lindsey Whiteside remains in federal custody as she awaits trial on charges that she transported a minor across state lines. The case, which has drawn widespread attention across DeSoto County and the Mid‑South, continues to move through the federal court system with multiple recent delays.
Whiteside’s federal trial is now scheduled for April 20, following a series of postponements tied to her attorney’s scheduling conflicts and storm‑related disruptions. A federal judge previously revoked her bond, ordering her held pending trial. She remains behind bars while the court determines next steps.
The case gained additional scrutiny after Whiteside received three years of house arrest in a related state case. The DeSoto County District Attorney has since sought resentencing, arguing the punishment did not reflect the severity of the offense.

A federal plea deadline is set for Feb. 23, and any new filings or motions could shift the timeline again. Prosecutors and defense attorneys continue preparing for the April trial date unless further delays are granted.
Whiteside faces significant federal penalties if convicted. The case remains active, and updates are expected as the court approaches the plea deadline and pretrial hearings.
