DeSoto County Sheriff’s officials report that three people were arrested south of the Commerce Street exit of I-55 in Hernando Monday afternoon after they were stopped in a stolen vehicle case.
Deputies responded to a stolen vehicle call to U.S. Highway 61 and Delta View at Walls about 2:40 p.m. When the deputies tried to stop the vehicle, it fled into Tunica County.
However, the vehicle was later spotted on Fogg Road South near Commerce Street outside Hernando and the chase resumed when the vehicle swerved at deputies.
The suspect vehicle was eventually stopped on I-55 southbound just south of the Commerce Street exit.
The driver and two passengers were taken into custody and a felony amount of narcotics was found in the vehicle.
The investigation into the incident continues and no further information was immediately available.
