Task Force apprehends suspect in Olive Branch armed robbery
Jan. 23, 2025-A newly formed Intercept and Intel Task Force with the DeSoto County District Attorney’s office has apprehended fugitive Edwin Wilson today, in connection with an armed robbery that occurred in Olive Branch.
The task force, composed of investigators from the District Attorney’s Office and detectives from Olive Branch and Hernando police departments, worked with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department to locate and safely apprehend Wilson early this afternoon in Marshall County.
Wilson is being charged in connection with a residential armed robbery that took place in Olive Branch back in early December.
The operation, supported by information-sharing protocols, allowed authorities to apprehend Wilson without incident or harm to any individuals involved. Additional charges are expected to follow as a result of the take-down.
“This operation highlights the power of teamwork and the effectiveness of this new Task Force’” said District Attorney Matthew Barton. “By utilizing resources and intelligence sharing across agencies, we were able to quickly locate and apprehend this violent criminal today and prevent him from committing another crime.”
