Southaven water system earns perfect 100 score from state health department
Southaven’s water system received a perfect 100 score from the Mississippi State Department of Health, the city’s mayor said in a blog post on the city’s website (https://southaven.org/Blog.aspx?CID=1).
The evaluation considered safety for drinkability, citywide capacity, general management of the system — including distribution lines, storage tanks, power backup and maintenance schedules — and the municipality’s financial capabilities, the blog said.
The mayor said the rating is rare and credited the city’s utilities management team and field technicians. The blog also cited continuous engineering analysis and extensive financial planning with city administration as key components to maintaining the rating.
The blog encouraged residents to drink the city’s water, noting the inspection and evaluation results as evidence of the system’s quality.
