Professional hockey to return to Landers Center, Southaven Chamber says
The Southaven Chamber of Commerce said in a social media post that professional hockey is returning to the Mid-South, with the Landers Center set to host games.
The chamber said community leaders and partners attended the announcement and heard from team owner Andreas Johansson, FPHL Commissioner Don Kirnan, Mayor Musselwhite, Kent Richey of Landers Auto Sales MS and Debbie Mendenhall.
According to the chamber, speakers described the development as a “game changer” and a momentum builder for the region. The chamber said the return of hockey is expected to boost tourism and hotel stays and create new opportunities for local businesses.
The chamber said it was proud to have been at the announcement and looks forward to seeing the economic impact unfold across DeSoto County and beyond.
