Hernando police report that a woman was found dead late Thursday night in a residence and are now investigating what happened.
The victim was identified as Kasey Maria Rowley, a black female, age 28. Rowley was found by officers who came to make a welfare check to a home on Magnolia Ridge close to 10:30 p.m. Thursday night.
Police say Rowley was found with gunshot wounds in a back bedroom of the residence and was declared dead at the scene by medical personnel.
Evidence is being processed and the investigation continues. No further information was immediately available.
