Olive Branch Police Awarded 4-Year National Accreditation
Last week the Olive Branch Police Department was awarded a four-year national accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, the City of Olive Branch said.
Chief Carlos Garcia and Capt. Jason Oliveria traveled to Tucson, Arizona, to attend the CALEA conference and represent the department, the city said.
According to CALEA, established in 1979, the commission sets professional standards for law enforcement and provides an accreditation process for agencies to demonstrate compliance and accountability.
The city said achieving and maintaining national accreditation reflects the department’s commitment to professional excellence, accountability and building trust with the community. The release said Olive Branch is one of only a few nationally accredited law enforcement agencies in Mississippi.
The city release was attributed to Mayor Ken Adams, and city officials said the department remains committed to upholding those standards and providing service to Olive Branch residents.
