Olive Branch opens storm shelter; police to staff at 5:30 p.m.

The Olive Branch storm shelter is open March 15 and will be staffed by the Olive Branch Police Department beginning at 5:30 p.m., Mayor Ken Adams said.

The shelter is located at 9549 Pigeon Roost Road in a building on the Olive Branch Elementary School campus, Adams said.

Adams urged residents to have multiple ways to receive severe weather warnings and updates. He said people can receive weather alerts from the city by texting “olivebranch” to 888777.
