OLIVE BRANCH — The rhythmic “pop” of paddles hitting balls is now a permanent fixture at Olive Branch City Park. Local officials and community members gathered Monday afternoon for a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the official opening of the City Pickleball Complex.
The facility, which is now open to the public, features six professional-grade, lighted courts designed to accommodate play well into the evening hours. Strategically located near the entrance to the Olive Bark Dog Park, the complex also includes a newly constructed restroom facility to serve athletes and spectators alike.
A Legacy of Giving
The project stands as a testament to local philanthropy, made possible by a significant charitable contribution from the the Homer Skelton Charitable Foundation. This donation allowed the city to meet the high demand for dedicated pickleball space without utilizing taxpayer funds for the construction.
During the ceremony, city leaders offered a special thank you to the family members of Homer Skelton for their continued investment in the quality of life for Olive Branch residents.

Collaborative Effort
The project saw extensive coordination between the Olive Branch Parks and Recreation department and the engineering firm Fisher-Arnold to ensure the facility met the needs of the fastest-growing sport in the country.
