Olive Branch opens 6,652-square-foot animal shelter

The City of Olive Branch held a grand opening Tuesday, April 7, 2026, for the new Olive Branch Animal Shelter, a 6,652-square-foot facility at 6551 Polk Lane at the intersection with Silo Drive, the city said.

Mayor Ken Adams, the Board of Aldermen and the Olive Branch Police Department said the facility will provide more efficient animal services and give Animal Services officers the space and resources to meet the city’s needs, the city said.

The shelter is open to the public for reclaiming lost pets and adopting available cats and dogs during business hours, the city said. It is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The shelter and animal-control operations are overseen by the Olive Branch Police Department, the city said.

The city directed residents to the shelter’s Facebook page to view animals available for adoption: https://www.facebook.com/obanimal, the city said.
