Participants in Olive Branch’s Citizens’ Police Academy Class 33 toured the DeSoto County Adult Detention Center last night, the Olive Branch Police Department said.
The department said the private tour was led by DeSoto County Adult Detention Center Director Col. LeAnn Farr and gave attendees the opportunity to meet Sheriff Thomas E. Tuggle II.
The post said participants learned about daily operations at the facility, including intake procedures, transportation, housing and the demographics that make up the inmate population.
The Olive Branch Police Department said the hands-on visit provided the class with a look into the custodial process and the detention center’s role in public safety in DeSoto County. The department’s post thanked Sheriff Tuggle and Col. Farr for welcoming the class and sharing their time and expertise.
