On Tuesday, April 30, the University of Mississippi-DeSoto campus staff organized a celebration of upcoming graduates.
Kacy Dixon, Coordinator of Student Services, stated, “Graduation Celebration on the DeSoto campus is our favorite event of the year. We love celebrating the success of our graduates! It is a special time for graduates to spend with their families, classmates and those that have made an impact on their time at the DeSoto campus. We love hearing our students’ stories and cheering them across the finish line!”
Three students were given the opportunity to speak to their classmates and families about their time at the UM-DeSoto campus. These students included Ashely Scott, Destinee Grimes, and Karlyn Gamble.
“Hearing student stories is always our favorite part of Graduation Celebration! Many of our students are balancing work, school, and families, and their stories are so inspiring. It’s an honor to celebrate with them,” Communications Specialist, Joy Arwood, stated.
Additionally, outstanding students were recognized for their academic achievements, campus and community involvement, and overall performance during their time at Ole Miss.
These students included: Karesha Pollin in Psychology, Madison Streiber in English, Fatima Abdulkarim in English, Jorden Armstrong in Social Work, Gracie Bowen in Education, Hannah Metzger in Criminal Justice, Jill Ramirez in Law Studies, Gina Carson Hester in General Business, Noah Armstrong in Management, Abigail McCaskill in Marketing, Amer Rahman in Management Information Systems, Bailey Hooper in Multidisciplinary Studies, LaShon McNeil in Accountancy, and Kinley Bradley in Integrated Marketing Communications.
