Officials ask visitors to leave pets at home at Hernando sports fields

Facility officials asked visitors to leave pets at home during spring recreational programs at the Hernando Soccer Complex and the Hernando Civic Center Fields at Renasant Park, officials said.

Officials said pets can create safety risks, distract players and pose challenges for people with allergies or fears.

Registered service animals are allowed, officials said. Officials also asked families and visitors to spread the message to others who may attend games or practices.

Officials thanked participants for their cooperation and said the request is intended to help keep the fields safe and enjoyable and to help participants focus on the game.
