Memphis man sentenced for $100,000 theft in Southaven
HERNANDO, Miss. — A Memphis man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after being convicted of stealing more than $100,000 worth of firearms and jewelry from a Southaven business, according to the DeSoto County District Attorney’s Office.
Guyland Key, 24, was found guilty of Grand Larceny and Burglary of a Non-Dwelling following the theft from Guns & Fine Jewelry in Southaven. He will serve 20 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections for Grand Larceny, along with an additional seven years of probation for the burglary charge.
“This conviction sends a clear message,” said Assistant District Attorney Gordon Shaw, who prosecuted the case. “Thanks to the Southaven Police Department’s thorough investigation, we’ve put another dangerous criminal behind bars. If you steal from DeSoto County businesses, you’re going to prison.”
