Heindl Center for the Performing Arts welcomes Lee Greenwood 

Aug 29, 2024 – Northwest Mississippi Community College’s Heindl Center for the Performing Arts welcomes Lee Greenwood, singer famous for “God Bless the USA,” to the Heindl Center stage on Sept. 7 at 7:30 p.m.

With multiple #1 songs and 25 charted singles, he is known for his patriotic music and his country hits. He has won various awards for his voice that captures audiences such as Male Vocalist of the Year, as well as many other awards and accolades.

Credited with the most recognizable patriotic song, “God Bless the U.S.A.,” Greenwood loves America and the people of America especially those who fight for it. He has partnered with Bible publishers to make “The God Bless the USA Bible” which is a King James Version (KJV). He has served under George W. Bush on the National Endowment of the Arts Council after his appointment was approved by the U.S. Senate.

“Lee Greenwood has won multiple CMA and ACM Awards and a Grammy Award and had 7 number 1 hits,” said Heindl Center director, Dr. Blake Bostick. “Known for his patriotism and support of the U.S. military, his stand-out hit ‘God Bless the U.S.A.’ has been in the top five on the country singles charts three different times, making it the only song in any genre to achieve that feat. 

Opening for Lee Greenwood is Bryan White, a CMA, ACM, and Grammy award-winning country music artist, with six number one singles, including ‘So Much for Pretending,’ ‘Rebecca Lynn,’ and ‘From This Moment On’ (with Shania Twain). 

Bryan has written songs for Wynonna, LeAnn Rimes, Joe Diffie, Diamond Rio, and Sawyer Brown.
