Gardner becomes Supervisor Board President

DeSoto County Supervisors Monday morning voted to hand the meeting gavel back over to District 2 Supervisor Mark Gardner, who will be board president for the 2025 year. Gardner, who was first elected to the board in 2011, was last board president in 2023.

Gardner takes over for District 4 Lee Caldwell, who served in the capacity and led board meetings in 2024. District 1 Supervisor Jessie Medlin will be the Vice President this year.

“It has been my honor to serve the people of DeSoto County as President in 2024,” Caldwell said. “As District 4 Supervisor, I will continue to work for my constituents and members of the County.”

“I am honored to take on this role and will work diligently to serve the people of DeSoto County with integrity and purpose,” Gardner said.
