Garden club observes October Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The DeSoto Civic Garden Club participated in The Garden Clubs of Mississippi “Plant it Pink Project”, in keeping with October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 

Club members Emilie Michael and Sandy Noble, created and planted a fall scene at Sacred Heart School in Southaven, using hay bales, corn stalks, a scarecrow, mums, pumpkins and flowers. All were decorated in shades of pink. 

In addition, 30 pink tulips were planted by the first grade students at Sacred Heart School. 

The DeSoto Civic Garden Club is a member of the National Garden Clubs, Inc. and The Garden Clubs of Mississippi Inc., Hills and Delta District.
