Fights Result in Meet the Chargers Cancelation
The introduction to athletes at a DeSoto County high school was called off Thursday night, Aug. 21, for public safety reasons.
The Meet the Chargers night at Southaven High School Thursday was eventually canceled after a number of disturbances took place.
Police said two individuals were asked to leave after fighting, but they became unruly and were arrested. At that point, the event ended.
High schools in DeSoto County typically will hold events such as Meet the Chargers to introduce athletic and activities participants as a kickoff to the fall season.
