Update: Driver Service Bureau continues with issues, locations open with delays

Feb 25, 2025- Due to the recent system upgrade from its vendor, the Driver Service Bureau (DSB) is continuing to experience some delays completing transactions. All locations will remain open, but wait times are longer than usual due to the delays and backlog it has created.
DSB encourages customers to delay their visit if possible. If you must visit one of our locations for emergency purposes, please be prepared for extended wait times.
In DeSoto County, the DSB locations are in Olive Branch and in Nesbit.
DSB sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience and appreciates your patience during this time. Feb. 24, 2025- (9:30 p.m.) The Driver Service Bureau Monday night reports it is still experiencing a software interface issue due to the recent system upgrade. This is not the result of any internal matter within the Department of Public Safety. Work is diligently being done with the vendor to resolve this as quickly as possible.
All statewide Driver Service Bureau locations will be open tomorrow, Feb. 25, operating under regular business hours but with limited services available. The services offered will include:
- Firearm permits
- Identification cards not related to driver’s licenses
- Court required registry

The Driver Service Bureau (DSB) offices in Mississippi, including Olive Branch and Nesbit, are currently experiencing significant technical issues at all locations statewide due to a recent system upgrade from its vendor. While all locations remain open, wait times are considerably longer than usual, with some transactions taking up to one hour to complete instead of the typical 6 to 7 minutes.
The Drivers Service Bureau encourages customers to delay their visit if possible. For those who must visit a location, please be prepared for extended wait times.

Earlier, late last week, it was announced that the offices were closing all day on Friday to work on system updates, as indicated below.
Feb. 21, 2025- You won’t be able to get your driver’s license obtained or renewed at the local stations in Olive Branch, Nesbit, or anywhere else in the state of Mississippi today. The Mississippi Department of Public Safety (MSDPS) announced it had closed all of the locations on Thursday and they would remain closed on Friday while system upgrades were being done.
MSDPS made the announcement in a news release.
