DeSoto high schools among best in Mississippi
It’s widely known the DeSoto County Schools are among the best in the state of Mississippi and a new report has indicated the same result.
The website Stacker has released a study of the best high schools in the state and three DeSoto County high schools are included in the listing. Stacker is a website that offers lists and information in a variety of areas, from news, sports, and entertainment, to science, lifestyles, education, and travel.
Stacker used 2023 rankings from Niche to determined the 30 best high schools in Mississippi.
Niche uses seven weighted factors for its rankings. A majority of the score is based on academics, but other factors include culture and diversity; sports; clubs and activities; resources; and surveys of parents, teachers, and students.
Lewisburg is the highest ranked DeSoto County school at number three with a Niche grade of A.
Olive Branch High school was the next county high school ranked at number 17 with a Niche grade of A-
And, Center Hill was ranked at number 25 with a Niche grade also at A-.
The Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science in Columbus was ranked number one in the state in the Stacker report.
